For this project I printed out the picture of me in the mask and cut them out. Then I set up a scene of stacked books and scattered the cut outs amongst them.

Poetic Metamorphosis
I wanted these objects to be very simple and to look worn, like someone had been living in them for a long time. I also wanted to use darker colors and lots of browns and greens.
Expressive Forms
This design represents Danger. I created a dangerous setting by having pointed edges and having something hanging above them
This represents Anger. I thought about how some people will put up walls and walls to hide their anger and sometimes you are only scratching the surface.
This represents Determination. The pieces of wood, to me, are determined to get out of the enclosed surface.
Paper Stacking
At first I thought this project was going to be fairly easy, we were just stacking paper right? But as I began to stack paper, I realized how hard it was actually going to be. I think that this was the most difficult project for me. Creating an onion by stacking one paper on top of the other turned out to be quite difficult.
My other paper stacking form turned out the way I had hoed. I wanted to have something that looked like it was balancing on each other.

Masked Identity
I got the inspiration for my mask from Harry Potter. I picked a scene from the first book, when Harry sees a cloaked figure feeding on unicorn blood. The act of drinking unicorn blood can prolong your life but in return a piece of your humanity dies because a Unicorn posses pure blood. I interpret this moment in the book as the moment Harry witness the corruption evil has upon good in the world. I decided to combine the two characters in this scene, good and evil. I created a cloak like hood with a unicorn horn coming out of the top. Overall I believe I succeeded in what I had imagined the mask to turn out as.
